I think this guilt thing is new. Previous generation women had so many kids and so much to do they had no time to feel guilty. Maybe that's what we should do, go back to washing diapers by hand and rolling our own dough and mopping the floors every day so we don't have time to think about anything, not even our kids!

Jane, sounds to me as if Stephen has enough Mom time. Quit berating yourself. What activity is there at the afterschool program? Lots of exercise would be nice...

After school is a big question. I think most of the school day is a waste of time so after school would be a good time for some real education and some real fun. But it's pathetic that we have to start thinking about how to remedy school with after school.
